Wedding Photography in Beaumaris, Anglesey | Hitomi + Mark

Oh my, what a privilege it was to be a wedding photographer at the start of the Bank Holiday in beautiful Wales.
Not only was this marriage the joining of two people evidently in love but the fusion of two cultures with Hitomi originally from Japan and Mark from Wales. So much thought had gone into representing both cultures including glorious Welsh singing from a male trio and a poignant Japanese piece led by Hitomi's Mum, Mrs Nishida who is an opera singer. I was blown away..not a dry eye to be seen.

Hitomi and Mark chose The Music Room at Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens for their ceremony. A very special place indeed as both Mark's Grandfather and Great Grandfather were groundsmen in days gone by. So although they were not there in person they were most definitely there in spirit as we were surrounded by spectacular scenery and perfect tranquility.

Whilst the guests were enjoying the sun and ambling to the reception at St George's in Llandudno we took a few minutes on a short detour to a favourite spot of Mark's where he has played as a boy to document the newly weds in the valleys.

One of my greatest loves is fine art nudes, where the images are all about suggestion. Sensual, using shape and form to create a strong connection with the viewer. It's always fascinating for me when clients, such as the wonderful lady I photographed yesterday, have their own ideas and thoughts to bring to their photography session. We worked together with our combined ideas to produce a wonderful collection of images which will be presented in an album for a very special wedding anniversary.

The female body is beautiful, graceful and visually extremely interesting which is why I have chosen this 'Just One' image to share with you.

Nadia and Keith were married at the Shooting Lodge at Carden Park where they also held the wedding reception.
I absolutely love peonies which were in Nadia's bouquet and of course I approved of her Jimmy Choo's - well chosen Nadia!

Keith was a little nervous in preparation for his groom's speech however those nerves turned into tears of emotion when he was waiting for Nadia to walk down the aisle. With an Irish twinkle in his eye Keith could not take his eyes off the beautiful Nadia.

Family Portraits | Photography at Combermere Abbey

It was a real family affair photographing brothers, sisters, husband, wives and cousins during my last photography session at Combermere Abbey. Otis, Max and Harriet were lovely to photograph and we were never short of somebody to make the kids giggle. I do recall the best elephant impersonation ever! We all ended up in stiches as poor Grandad ended up covered in leaves when we made our way down to the wood.

Children's Photography at Combemere Abbey

It's always lovely to catch up with families who I have photographed before especially when there has been an addition or in this case additions! The last time I photographed Archie, Mum had a big bump so we included some maternity portraits in the session. The 'bump' turned into Poppy who is the busiest little girl I have ever met. She kept me on my toes!

Last but not least I met the dinky Hattie who at only 5 weeks old was so adorable. I have to confess to being broody as I remember my children at this age so well. Congratulations to you all on your lively family. Here is your sneak preview:

It was so nice to meet Camilla, Isabelle and little Oliver with their Mummy and Daddy. Lots of different personalities and all so much fun. I kept getting distracted by the gorgeous Lelli Kelly's and the girl's outfits but we figured that I actually wouldn't be able to squeeze into any of them even if I tried really hard!

The best place to buy Lelli Kelly's for this summer season is Lollipops shoes, Cocoa yard in Nantwich where you will find a grand selection of these divine pumps. Oh to be 6 again....

I got to meet the very pretty Liv and the super cool Gwil on Saturday as they had booked one of the Jensen Photography Portrait Days which were held at the very special Combermere Abbey. We had such fun sauntering through the walled gardens, catching blossom and strolling through the woodland. Liv and Gwil had great fun with their Mummy and Daddy with lots of pretend battles with sticks, although I'm sure I did spot a dragon hiding in the trees...

Portrait Photography at Combermere Abbey | Shropshire

Well! What a gorgeous day we all had on Saturday in the private grounds of the stunning Combermere Abbey photographing some of my lovely clients. The weather was glorious and we were incredibly lucky to be able to utilise the walled garden and the woodland area leading down to the lake.

First up were Max and Archie, always full of energy and kept me on my toes! I've been photographing the boys for a few years now and I'm always so surprised by how much they have grown! Lovely to see you all again.x

After lunch I got to meet twins Toby and Amelia who were little stars! We ended up covered in leaves once they discovered the delights of covering me until I was hidden. I'm still finding leaves in all sorts of places!

Last but not least Alicia and Josh came along for their photography with Nana, Gramps and Ally the dog. Alicia was very careful to keep clean and Josh was posing like a Levi model (now that makes me sound my age doesn't it!

Thanks for a wonderful day and a big fat squeeze to my assistant Ionwen who makes my life so much more organised.

Who can believe it's round 4 of the Headquarters Style Search?! I've photographed almost twenty models now producing a fashion portfolio to be proud of for each of them and the talent just gets better and better!

Today I met Verity who has the most beautiful eyes reminiscent of Sophie Dahl. She will go into the judging for April so good luck Verity and thank you for today!

Baby Cameron... Newborn Photography | Cheshire

I am so lucky being a baby photographer as I get to meet the cutiest tootiest of babies like 6 week old Cameron who was an absolute star today. He was pretty alert but with lots of encouragement from Mummy and Daddy we managed a few squidgy sleeping shots.

Cameron will be coming back for his next shoot when he is sitting up and then again when he is walking so I'm thrilled to be able to document his growth and milestones through this series of images to share and treasure.

A big thank you to Laila and Al who were so patient and obviously enjoying their new baby to the max. It was so lovely to meet you all.

Studio notes and news!

Well it's been a busy old week this week. I had a commercial job at the beginning of the week (blog post soon) and lots of lovely interest in the very special Bluebell Portrait Days coming up on the 17th and 24th April. The places are filling up fast so if you have an invitation please e-mail my assistant, Ionwen, on marketing@jtjphoto.co.uk. She will let you know the current availability and happily answer any questions you may have.

The studio is now closed until Friday 2nd April so I will reply to wedding enquiries after this date.
For baby and maternity shoots please e-mail me with as much info as possible so I can make sure we get a date in the diary as soon as possible!

Tonight was judging night for Round 3 of Headquarters Salon Style Search, and it was a tough call. All of the models were impressive but the winner was chosen and I'm pleased to announce that Monia has taken the trophy for March.
Well done Monia - you look amazing and your overall style and class shone thorugh.

It was the gorgeous Jenny who arrived for her studio model shoot today with me working in my fashion photographer capacity which I love! With legs as long as Julia Roberts (does that make me old?), the most feminine and sensuous 'up-do' styled by the lovely Sabrina, and a pretty, pretty face my job was easy!
Jenny can't wait for her viewing session so she can compile her modelling portfolio with a collection of stunning images.

The judging will take place here at Jensen Photography on Tuesday 23rd March at the studio and I'm hoping I can announce Round 3's winner here on the blog! Watch this space!

New tooth! New shoes! | Complimentary Portrait Session

The tooth fairy visited us last night :-) Sophia lost her first tooth! It's an exciting time so I just had to pop into the studio and take a few piccies to share with you.

We also popped into town today to see Richard at Lollipops Children's Shoes. Lollipops stocks the very finest quality shoes including the gorgeous Lelli Kelly's! It was school shoes for us today and Sophia came home happy with her choice of footwear.

As you know I am holding one of my very special Portrait Days on two dates next month with private access to the beautiful bluebell woods of the stunning Comberemere Abbey. Here is the important bit!..........

I am so happy blogging about this post as the planning that went into it was immense!
You see this shoot was very special as it was a surprise Mother's Day album which went down an absolute storm.
The brief was to produce a collection of images in black and white for an album. I do have to admit that Connor and I did a deal that if he kissed his sister I would pay him. We started at 50p and ended up at £1.50 but it was so worth it!

Although I photograph lots and lots of lovely families in Nantwich, many of my clients travel from Manchester,Staffordshire and Shropshire for a shoot here at Jensen Photography Studio. As a maternity, newborn, baby and child photography specialist I receive lots of enquiries from all over the North West about photo sessions so do get in touch to reserve your appointment so you too can have beautiful images to treasure.

I can't quite believe that we have reached the end of stage three of the Style Search with Headquarters Salon in Nantwich!
It's such good fun photographing all these amazing models who are transformed with a new hair style and makeover before being treated to a professional studio shoot. Many of the models now have an amazing portfolio collection and I am proud to be their photographer.

It was absolute delight to meet the gorgeous little Asha who was just 9 days old. Big brother was on hand to make sure everything was in order and we had lots of fun whilst Asha was having a feed playing. Newborns can often be very sleepy but Asha was extremely alert and taking in her new world for almost all of the time I was with the family.

A Jacobean style country house set in over 100 acres of stunning parkland makes for a grand celebration and this wedding was no exception especially the attention to detail which was so pretty and coordinated.

Cheshire Portrait Photography ...Harry is 3!

What an absolutely wonderful start to yesterday with a blanket of snow for a morning with Harry's family to create some special family memories during our portrait shoot together. Harry gave me a test drive of his new bright green tractor complete with loader and then we all went for a stroll in the gorgeous winter wonderland adjacent to the family home.
To warm up we all had a hot drink and Harry kindly shared out the choccy biccies and gingernuts before we carried on taking some pictures at home. As you can tell from the pictures we had lots of fun!

Later in the day was THE PARTY! Complete with a fantastic entertainer, the best face painter I have ever seen (and super quick) and a very talented balloon man, Harry and all his friends had a wonderful time. The adults seemed to be having a great time too but didn't partake in the face painting! Harry chose to be a lion so there was lots of roaring and laughter going on - in all a great afternoon.

It's been quite a week this week!

I am very excited to announce that JENSEN Photography and HeadQuarters hairdressers of Nantwich are working together on a fabulous 'STYLE SEARCH' competition where the winner will be presented with a prize worth £1000!

The team at HQ are working their socks off creating hair styles to wow the judges with creative flair and va va voom.

This is a competition with a difference however as every lucky participant is being treated to a studio shoot here with me where they get a chance to model their hair and make up ,the overall look,with a professional image put forward into the competition.

Pregnancy 'bump' fine art portraits

As a female photographer specialising in bump photography, I offer all of you beautiful pregnant ladies out there the opportunity to have some gorgeous photos taken during this wonderful time either at home or in the studio. I can assure you that you will feel comfortable having your picture taken and delighted with the artistic results as I use light creatively to show off your shape and form.

I remember my two pregnancies so well and I feel this personal experience allows me to appreciate all those lovely changes that happens to our bodies when we are pregnant. I never tire of hearing all about your excitement and the sheer anticipation waiting for your little one to arrive. I really understand what you are going through as only an expectant Mum can! The kicks, wriggles and hiccups as your bump grows, your body changes and the amazing bond with your baby. It's the first hand experiences that help me create the fine art images that will grace your walls or come together in an album for your keepsakes that you will treasure.

It was an absolute delight to spend a morning session with little Ellie and Henry, with their Mum as we created some beautiful images in the studio using natural light. Henry was such a good help and was quite the big brother.

Newborn photos are so very special as there are many changes that take place in those early weeks.I feel privileged to be a specialist baby photographer and get to meet so many lovely babies!

My favourite part of the day was the release of masses of Wish Lanterns which lit up the evening sky in a magical way; a perfect spot of excitement before the first dance back inside.

I was approached by Rowena Rugdale, the designer, founder and owner of Red Ruby Rose to produce a selection of commercial images displaying her beautiful hand-made and exclusively designed clutch bags. I can personally say that these bags are so very pretty and always the subject of discussion between my friends when I take one out. My brides love them too, either as a bag for bridal goodies and other bridal essentials, such as lipgloss and hankies, safe during the wedding day or as a special present for bridesmaids or Mum's. Many bride's are opting for an alternative to flowers as gifts for Mum's and Mum's in law and these certainly fit the bill. Something special to keep and use again and again as well as a lovely personal touch as a reminder of your special day and a gorgeous addition to any woman's wardrobe.

Portrait Session - tick...tock...tick..

Well it's that time of year again and with only a few weeks until we stuff ourselves silly and wear paper hats. JENSEN Photography is now almost fully booked up for pre-Christmas portrait shoots.
There are two studio sessions still available this weeks as I have cleared my diary unexpectedly on Sunday as I can no longer attend a training seminar in London.
Of course I will always make exception for newborns and maternity portraits as these photos are not ones that can be delayed!

I have to start off this post but firstly congratulating Hayley and Dave for choosing one of the prettiest venues for wedding photography in Worcestershire I have ever had the pleasure to shoot at. Birtsmorton Court is full of beautiful surprises with every turn from the moat to the little bridge and immaculately maintained gardens. I know that Hayley fell in love with the little bridge that leads from the grounds across to the hall where the marriage service takes place. It is very special indeed. This coupled with a glorious Autumnal day offered amazing light and the warmest of ambience.

Despite a total photography ban during the wedding ceremony I did manage to persuade the registrar to allow me to take a handful of shots. As with all weddings, the marriage is such an important element of the visual narrative of the day so I was pleased that I was entrusted to shoot in my usual documentary style waiting for the moment to release the shutter thus working professionally and discreetly.

Working alongside me were Sally and Steve of Magic Productions who were simply lovely. Always considerate and extremely helpful, we made a great team!

The whole day was full of laughter and fun, topped off by the best choreographed 1st dance I've ever witnessed! Hayley grooved despite her big dress and Dave did his thing!

Nicola & Tim | Wedding | The Lowry | Manchester

Nicola & Tim were married at the very lovely Town Hall of Sale where Nicola's Dad and sister couldn't hold back the tears which had me going as well as seeing a Dad cry is a dead cert for lots of emotion throughout the day. Incidently, Nicola's father was wearing the very suit he was married in himself an looked extremely dapper!
I can only describe Nicola and Tim both as energetic, full of laughter and fun and very much in love. Every single guest was brimming with joy for you both and it was such fun to be your photographer as there was so much genuine interaction and expressions that I was in my element taking pictures.

Following the beautiful civil ceremony at the town hall complete with live guitar from Tim's usher everybody piled onto a big red double decker to transport us all to Manchester City Centre. Tim's grandparent, who sadly couldn't be there in person, were kept fully up to speed throughout the day via skype monitored by Tim's parents. They must have been so happy to feel part of your day even if from a distance.

Once at The Lowry and following the all important drinks we sauntered off for a short while to take some pictures of the Mr & Mrs. We had a lovely time using the surrounding architecture and riverside walk as our background. You were both a pleasure to photograph and I wish you every happiness in the world.

I received a wonderful gift from a local wine company today - Wine Buddy.
A beautifully packaged and presented Rioja is now waiting to be drunk. I can think of a couple of friends who would like to share that with me.

Caroline & Richard had an absolute ball on their wedding day. I have never met a happier bride than Caroline who soaked up every second of the day.

Here is a sneak preview of a recent portrait session of my very good friends The Kibbles! I am so lucky that Lucy and Gary handed over their gorgeous house for me to use as a natural light studio for my Portrait Day. We all had a fun time especially Oscar ;-)

Esme was very busy most of the time in the garden and doing exactly what she loves..sweeping up, weeding etc and Imogen was a proper princess in her 'delicate' dress.

Catchingup on recent weddings and portraits....

When I arrived at the bridal preps i just knew that Laura and Simon's wedding was going to be divine. Laura's parents have the most beautiful house in an idyllic location.
Laura chose Green Earth Flowers of Poynton who created perfect bouquets with amazing attention to detail.
The stunning dress was a bespoke design by Village Bride of Stockport.

Simon and Laura were a pleasure to photograph and the whole day was just lovely!

I am proud on two counts to blog about one of my images which featured on page 19 of the Telegraph Magazine yesterday, 8th August 2009.

THE best Wedding Planner..ever | Tammy | Magic Dust Wedding Planning & Coordination

I am extremely flattered to be featured in the Magic Dust Blog after meeting Tammy at last Saturday's perfect wedding at Hipping Hall in Kirkby Longsdale.

I will be blogging about Jennifer and Kenton's wedding in a couple of weeks but I just had to post about how wonderful Tammy is. Always genuine, always there when you need her and an absolute pleasure to work with.If you are planning your wedding and thinking of a coordinator contact Tammy - she is amazing!

Tammy and Adam chose the stunning Crewe Hall for the wedding day and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The day was full of laughter, much of the time about how attached Adam was to his top hat!

Christie's Black Tie Summer Picnic | Rose Cottage | Burland

I was delighted to be involved with Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group who work so consistently to raise funds for the Manchester based Derek Crowther Unit.

An absolutely perfect summer evening at the beautiful and tranquil Rose Cottage, home to Sarah & Roger Mills, provided the essential ingredients in term of venue.
Sarah Pickering works effortlessly to ensure these events are fun and successful, and her husband Tim gets roped into tasks however serving Pimms isn't all that bad is it Tim?

The Nantwich contingency certainly know how to have fun and raise money at the same time - the black tie picnic proved to be a staggering success raising £9704.00!!!
Many companies had donated prizes to be auctioned on the evening, myself included and I would love the lucky winner to get in touch so we can arrange your portrait shoot..call me! :-)

I was extremely honoured to be accepted to take part in the RANKINLIVE project last week.
Rankin is a British photographer held in the very highest esteem amongst the fashion and photography world alike. 1000 British individuals will be photographed and be included in a montage exhibition to be held in The Old Truman Brewery from 31st July through to the 18th September 2009. All donations from participants such as myself go directly to Oxfam.

After a fantastic fuss by the make-up and hair department it was my turn to be on set.
I've never loved having my photograph taken as much as I did in that 10 minutes. Rankin is one seriously talented man backed by a super team who were all wonderful.

Hello all

I just wanted to reassure you that I will be blogging lots this week from recent weddings and shoots. It's a busy time right now and I do wish there were more than 24 hours in any one day.

Occasionally I partake in a spot of commercial photography assignments and recently I had the pleasure of working with Dr Raj Acquilla on two occasions. Firstly for some head shots and then to shoot his super cool cosmetic clinic.

The clinic is a perfect example of style and although I was sure there must have been some female influence, I was assured that it was Raj who has made all the intricate design decisions with great effect in my opinion.

If you are thinking of Botox, fillers or would like to chat about treatments then Raj is the most approachable doctor going so feel free to get in touch with him. It was a pleasure to work with Raj.

Helen & Simon | The Glasshouse at Combermere Abbey | Shropshire

Helen and Si chose the beautiful Glasshouse at Combermere Abbey for their reception following their marriage at St Oswald's Church, Chester. Amid pretty bunting and glorious walled gardens the guests were served cream tea whilst the newly weds had a swift half at the local pub.

It was a relaxed, happy affair topped off by a full on 1st dance which Simon's Dad particularly enjoyed!

Both Helen and Simon really appreciate my documentary approach to photography which allowed them to completely relax and enjoy their wedding day to the full.

Worcester Portraits

I recently popped down to Worcester to catch up with a good friend and another who was hopping onto the mainland to do a catch up from Guernsey. We had a lovely picnic, albeit a tad windy followed up with a go on the bouncy castle and a cuppa.

I did a very brief portrait of Joud who is one determined little boy. Confident of some lovely images, we went for a wander and a chat. Joud's Mum loved the pictures! I hope you do too.

I am very lucky to have been asked by Emily, the founder of Milk & Jam exclusive children's wear to do a shoot to showcase her beautiful range of girl's clothes.
The location? Emily's fabulous house, which is right up my street as it's full of eclectic looks and great finds..a perfect setting to show off the fabrics and styling of this season's range.

All of the models were absolute stars and totally up for dressing up for the session.

Brighton - March 2009

After many months of promising myself that I will start blogging I have decided that there is no time like the present to get some pictures on my blog.
This is a collection from Brighton, one of my favourite places in the UK. I lived there for a couple of years in my early 20's and have such a soft spot for the place and the people. Being near the sea gives me such a sense of calm and it was simply lovely to have a few hours to myself taking pictures purely for pleasure.
I had just had a fantastic week in Windsor as a participant in a Floshops workshop working with the amazing Ben Chrisman, the lovely Jason Groupp and the energy driven adorable Dave and Quin of DQ studios. The timing was ideal for a jaunt to Brighton bringing back lots of lovely memories, some time to reflect on what I had learnt that week and just life in general.

This shot is from a location I love to use for portraits - the perspective really adds another dimension to the image and I guess I'm biased about this particular photograph as the subject is my little girl.

Charlotte's Maternity Session

I'm very excited to share these maternity images of Charlotte and her bump.
The light was perfect and I am a great fan of pregnancy portraits as they really are very beautiful - an amazing way to embrace this special and exciting time.

The best time for photographing 'bumps' is after 30 weeks and even better towards the end of pregancy up to about 38 weeks. Sessions take place at your home or like these pictures at a location which can be fantastic for utilising light and the natural environment.

Maternity Sessions can be booked as an individual sitting with a range of products and packages to choose from or as part of my new 'Bump to Birthday' collection. Please e-mail me or call to enquire further about your pregnancy portraits.
